Draco trio
« on: May 23, 2012, 11:01:23 PM »
I decided to pick something off my list of potential targets as an experiment and I think I like this area of the sky.

It has enough background galaxies to be similar to a Markarians chain area almost and I left the odd framing because I didnt want to lose anything.

Ill need to go back to this area when the conditions are a little better and really dedicate some serious time.

24 5min subs with CLS LP filter from a semi dark sky at ISO 1600 stacked in DSS and then adjusted in PS CS2. Canon 500D(Gary Honis modded) being run by Backyard EOS , Orion Atlas mount and the scope is a Celestron 8" SCT with a .63 focal reducer(FL 1280) and a 7x40mm finderscope as a guide scope.

Awesome Eric!  Seems to be a popular target this week!  I like your framing and opted for the same thing when I shot mine. !!!  Excellent detail in NGC5985!!!

Very promissing already Nils,

Looking forward to see it under better conditions and additional exposure time.

nice depth, detail and color Erik, it's really hard for me to tell what I'm looking at sometimes on my laptop's screen, but it looks to me like it could use a little contrast boost.

Thanks for the comments all.

I think I pushed this poor data as hard as I could , 2 hours doesnt do a target like this justice.

I usually have to try a target out once and then I go back to it later knowing what I will do the second time and this was the dry run.
