First Light for 60Da
« on: May 15, 2012, 06:20:01 PM »
Here is a short first light image from my Canon 60Da using my Orion 10" f/3.9 astrograph - 31-min (21x90s); ISO 1600. Object: NGC 5033, mag 10.2, size 10.5x5.1'.

Am happy so far.

Very impressive John! Great first light. And only a half an hour? This is not an easy target. I spent a lot more time last year on it and didn't do nearly as well as you. Looks like you've got a winning setup there.

Hi John,

Looks great.  It would definitely benefit from more time, but a great start.  Glad you're happy with the 60Da.

Thanks Derek, Eric!

This was shot from the end of my boat dock down in MD. Actually a very good sky when you turn off the light at the end of the dock. <g> I shot it the following night also with different settings - still experimenting.
