Please post your Image of the Month entries for June 2012 here....

IOM Rules:

1. Objects are to be captured and processed entirely by the user. Equipment on loan to a user is allowed providing the rig is setup and aligned by the user and the target is acquired, framed, focused and captured by the user. Internet and/or rent-a-scope remote imaging services are not allowed.

2. Data acquired 90 days prior to the challenge deadline may be used to create the entry.

3. Images are to be posted to the corresponding monthly thread with max dimensions of 800 by 800 pixels.

4. Images must be in jpeg format and may not exceed 1 Megabyte in file size.

5. The contest will run from the 1st of the month to the last of the month and submissions are due by 11:59pm est.

6. Once an image has been posted to the Image of the Month thread, it is considered final and can not be modified in any way. Unless you are instructed to resize your image by a moderator. In that event, you can resize it, but may not perform any other processing on the data.

I haven’t been able to find a separate designation for the bit next to Pickering’s Triangle.  It seems to be usually considered part of the same wisp, and makes an interesting small loop in combination with NGC6979.

-Ha 5 X 900s; OIII 6 X 1200s; SII 8 X 1200s; all binned 1X1 + darks and biases; no flats; Astrodon 6nm filters.  HST color mapping.

This is Sharpless 2-112, an emission nebula in the constellation Cygnus. I shot a widefield of this target last year, but thought there might be a lot of interesting bits up close. So I tried it again this time through my 10" LX200R at f/10, QSI 540 wsg. Total six hours Ha (15 minute subs) and 2 hours RGB (5 minute subs), all binned x 2. Thanks for looking.
