Some new solar / planetary images
« on: April 10, 2012, 12:36:52 PM »
We finally finished up processing a bunch of images.  Mike Unsold has had us testing AVI processing in IP and has taken some time.  These were all taken on March 26 & April 9.  The Saturn & Mars were under fairly poor skies.  The 2 solar mosaics were stitched together using PTGui...really liking that app!!

As for the new IP functions, they work very very well.  Mike will be adding more AVI support over the summer, but so far IP 4.5b can support AVIs from Pt. Grey, Imaging Source, etc. without conversion.  You can calibrate, grade, align & combine AVIs up to ~90Gb in size.  It's awfully nice to have a "one stop shop".

Thanks for looking.

Those are incredible C&T, all of them.  You got nice color and detail on Mars!!  The Prom Forest is insane...and I love the metaphor !!!

Some super shots (as per usual).  Just to keep things fair for the rest of us, you need to post a bad one, every once in a while

:good: Really excellent shots.  Looks like I need to pony up the $50 for the 4.5 upgrade.

Thanks Mr. Jay.  The atmosphere wasn't very forgiving that night, but we were able to get a little out of Mars & Saturn.
