Hello nice folks. I'm looking for a recent decent laptop to use with my Nexstar 8se. I"ve an opportunity to purchase a used camara and all the stuff that goes with it, but until then I could use a laptop as I don't have one. I can buy new at "BestBuy" for $349 but will try the used market here and take a chance. thanks VB

I have for sale here in New Jersey a "almost" new Vixen R130Sf Newtronian Telescope with the Orginal Porta mount. Scope is in almost new condtion, optics and collimation is perfect. As a couple of extras I have the Orginal flex extensions replaced with the 11.5" longer handles, and I have an extraAccessory tray w/ screw. Flex Handles cost new $25.00 + shipping each. This is a complete setup. 6 x 30 finderscope & bracket, 1 1/4" eyepiece adapter, tube rings, slow motion controls. NO dinks, marks, dents etc. anywheres. I would prefer a local pickup in New Jersey if possible. I want $300.00 unshipped. I will split up the pair if necessary. OTA $200 and the Mount $150.00. Pictures if requested. Email me if you want at: viperbob@comcast.net. thanks VB **********SOLD**********

Do you all think that this $12 is a start of something that will keep going up? I've been a member since 2002 and never payed a dime. But since Herb York was told his services were no longer needed, the startup of paying for access. Actually its not the money, but asking or saying pay up or move on is rather harsh. I hope there not getting gready. What do you all think? VB

Ken, I agree that i'm not found of lights period, but I don't like the white ones, and will not use them on my home. However, I do like the multi colored ones, as they don't give off that much ambient light. Even after Christmas lights are a pain. I have a street light right outside my house. Hmm can I borrow that pellet/BB gun? VB

Jason C, I appreciate your explaniation completely. I'm here for the long run just like I was over there. However i'm not into taking those wonderful photographs that others do, but I love reading about those who do. Ok nuff said about the past, now its time to get on with the present and future. As a amitted "warm" weather viewer, if and when a star party is planned for next spring i'd like to go. Thats if a 68 year old is allowed This site, now mine to, is a great place to visit daily and its warm to see others that I know. Anyplace with the likes of Ken, and Mike will stand the test of time. Time to move on and this is the place.......... VB

One wonders why something like that would happen. I wondering if he just the heck with it and moved on without saying anything to anyone. He might have been pissed off at some of us for not helping out. He was always a first class kinda guy and I like him and Tom. Shame that site had a huge bunch of great people from all over. Kinda bothers me, oh well, im sure if anyone hears anything he/she will post here. VB

I knew something was wrong on the NJ site. Nothing new was put up in over a year from Jim. I don't know why he wouldn't ask for any help. He truly might have said enough if enough and move on. But on the plus side we did have many great star parites over the years. I met some realily great folks and some of them did go by the bye and we didin't know why. I guess any site is as good as the folks who are on it. But i've known Jim for years as I was almost the first on his first site before he went to the last one. I will miss it and that's the truth. Maybe we will find out somthing in the long run, but I wonder if it will be the truth. I just want to thank all the nice foks here who have picked up the ball and alowed some of us from NJiste to log in and be part of the family. I for one am very grateful............... VB

Sehmeah, howdy and welcome to you bud. It would have been nice if Jim had let all of us know he was giving up on the site instead of us trying to log on day after day without any luck. I dunno why he didn't ask for any help with the site. Ken's right about loosing all our info that was there. I hope it wasn't hackers who took the site down and he just said "heck with it'. Either way this site is first class and most of our current member on the "other" site is here. You will reconzie many of the names. VB

JR#8, I traded it away for a 10mm Parks gold eyepiece. I completed the Vixen telescope with purchasing the Vixex Porta Mount and tripod over this past weekend. I needed a couple of common eyepieces to give to my 11 year old granddaugher along with the telesocpe and along with a Celestron 25mm I though a 10mm would work. Even thought the scope is only an f/5 they should work in a 11 year old eye. I've never owned a reflector before being a SCT person, but I thought what a great Christmas present to her it would be. She has gotten straight "A"'s in science year after year and I want to have her keep the quest up in science. So the scope goes to her with my blessings. My first scope was about at the same age. Hmm but not as a scope like this. But thanks for the thought on your part. VB

I have for sale or maybe a trade of somekind, a almost new Orion ED-2 3.7mm eyepiece. Comes with bottom cap, no top cap, and a bolt case. New these go for $72.00 plus shipping. I want $40.00 and i'll include shipping in CONUS only. I could use maybe another eyepiece in the 8mm to 12mm range, with a value equal to this eyepiece, but would prefer to sell. If you don't like it for something I didn't list here, i'll return your money, less shipping. FAIR?? thanks, VB P.S. check out my rating on Amart or CN. I do collect U.S. coins if this would help. I could send a photo if necessary.

I have been logging on amost each day now, so I keep looking and checking. But truth time we may never know. Now what can we do to add to our membership? But Mike you could be right. VB
